Faith Over Fear

October is such a wily and unapologetic month! It brings seasonal changes that are undeniable reminders that each of us are journeying as solitary adventurers and as part of a Universe much larger. Consider the trees with their leaves becoming colorful and at the same time drying out and separating from the branches. Animals are preparing for hibernation. The fields are largely harvested and readying themselves for dormancy. All natural cycles of transition.
Personally, this October brings forth not only the familiar transitions of autumn, but several personal experiences that require significant change. An uprooting, if you will, of all that is familiar and comfortable. Sound familiar for situations that are present in your life perhaps? I have a word of encouragement for you. No, literally, one word.
Faith.
It’s the crux of peaceful living. Especially during life transitions. It’s the force that sustains when the journey of life seems dark, with unknowns punctuating crossroads, and the natural fear of change creeps in. Even when we are deliberately choosing change, there are always moments where the inherent unknowns cast a shadow of doubt or worry. It’s in these moments we can cling to faith in the Universe. That all things work toward our ultimate favor. Whatever your religious persuasion, this is a foundational truth. Obstacles are opportunities. Gratitude is the key to joyful living. Faith is the foundation for calmness and comfort in all storms.
For whatever unknowns you face, and for all the twists and turns of life, let your Faith be far greater than your fear.
