Spring is in full swing and it’s a great time to celebrate the magic of creation and cycles of life! Too often we become so focused on the daily grind that we forget to savor the moments of living. We rather passively allow the hours and days to go by; busy in our routines. I believe there is a longing in each of us to better engage with our lives and the world in which we live. This can, and should, be a mindful practice we develop ongoing. Certainly it is imperative to foster innovation and creative processes!
As adults, do you ever just stand back and watch kids fly kites and ponder where your own childlike sense of playfulness and wonder disappeared to? Like a child watching a kite soaring into the sky, looking up at the clouds and delighting in the shapes that form and disappear, imagining the creatures and stories and possibilities Mother Nature Sky tells! Aside from the rigors of everyday life – those to-do lists, predictable schedules and the juggling of family and work life – what really bogs us down and dilutes our childlike wonder?
This month of May, let’s focus our attention on being aware of the details of our surroundings and experience the moments of daily living through the childlike lens of curiosity and awe! What wonderment awaits!!
