April is here and it’s a great time to check in and see how we did with maintaining our New Year resolutions and progress over the first quarter of the year. So how did you do? If you missed your mark, please do not be discouraged and continue reading! Spring is here and it’s another awesome time to begin again. Even if you missed your targets, like I did in a few areas, hopefully you can celebrate incremental progress toward some of your initiatives and goals.
Springtime is full of freshness – the air is warmer, birdsong fills the morning, sunshine invigorates and all the signs of rebirth and new life are great motivators for us as we continue our journey. We must persist and press on. Staying in one place – whether in thought, activity or circumstance – narrows our ability to enjoy a full life. We must pursue that which brings our souls joy and allows us to thrive. April, in all her magnificent color and glory, reminds us of possibility and the inevitability of rebirth.
JP Morgan has some wise words: “The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide you’re not going to stay where you are.” We should not fight change or transitions. And, in fact, we need to embrace them for our own growth and progress through life. Take a look around you at the abundance of examples Mother Nature provides to encourage us to take risks, be a little vulnerable, trust in the natural order of things, and above all, have a bit of faith. Springtime is fabulous for fresh starts and equally powerful to help us sustain energy for continued progress.
It was this time one year ago that I ventured out of my comfort zone and launched Calyyco Creations. It’s been a learning experience. More importantly, it’s been a series of small, incremental steps forward. I am excited about the plans taking shape for the upcoming year for taking this creative wellness endeavor into the community. I hope you’ll stick around and continue to be inspired! Enjoy this beautiful season of Spring and may you be encouraged to step into your own creative act of living.
